Brightwash is a concentrated, heavy duty detergent containing a powerful blend of sequestrants and surfactant based defoamers. Brightwash is used as a bottlewashing primary additive to caustic for cleaning glass, refillable PET and PEN bottles and is particularly effective at removing very tenacious soils. Brightwash is also used as an additive to caustic for a wide range of CIP applications within the pharmaceutical, food, dairy and beverage industries.

Brightwash should be dosed into the caustic section of bottlewashers at sufficient levels to maintain 0.25-0.5% w/w (0.2-0.4% v/v), depending on soil loading and tenacity, scale and water hardness. Optimal foam control is obtained at temperatures above 45°C.
Brightwash is consumed by water hardness salts and scale. Free EDTA must be present to ensure effective performance and should therefore be monitored during use and additions made to maintain the required concentration where appropriate.
Brightwash is typically used at 0.3-2% w/w (0.2-1.5% v/v) for CIP, depending on application, soil loading and water hardness.
Brightwash containing solutions should be thoroughly rinsed after use to remove them from all food and beverage contact surfaces.
